The Brokenhearted (Part 1): God Heals Broken Lives
Monday August 19, 2024 4:00pm - 4:30pm EDT
The class comes out of the experiences of my life and ministry. Sometimes, as we go through life, difficult situations arise. It is during these times that people give up on God, forsake the church, and go back to the world. If we wait upon the Lord and remain faithful, we will find that God restores the brokenhearted. Examples of Job and discussion of Romans 8:28 and other texts gives the biblical basis for this lesson which urges us to be faithful during difficult times.

The Brokenhearted (Part 2): Helping the Brokenhearted
Tuesday August 20, 2024 10:20am - 10:50am EDT
We will look at some examples of how churches sometimes helped and sometimes failed to help people during their crisis. The purpose is not to point out others’ failures, but to remind us of the simple idea of the importance of being there when people are hurting. Job shows an example of how his friends helped him when they sat with him, but failed because they tried to find a meaning behind the loss. Churches who are there for the hurting have fewer people fall away and more people won to Christ.
